Rustic Meets Modern Kitchen Remodel

HAPPY! That is the word that pops into my head when I look at this kitchen. The aqua backsplash is a bold choice but it works and makes this space so much brighter and happier! The original “custom” kitchen was falling apart after only 10 years, I was hired to replace what what there with a higher quality product. After being in the space I realized, I could do much more than replace what these owners currently had. If you look at the “before” pictures you will notice how close the sink and range were located to each other. Leaving very little countertop space for prep work and cooking. I prepared an optional design, it took some convincing for the hubby to come around, I pushed, I knew the new design would improve the functionality of their space. I started with moving the peninsula to the opposite wall, moving the fridge and range, opened up this kitchen all while keeping the same square footage. Now the range has prep and landing zones with room for helpers. The fridge is located to easily serve the cook, peninsula, dining room and patio. Best of all the hubby said, “I know the kitchen is the same size but it has so much more storage”!
